They wear shoes that fit quite snugly, no socks, so that their toes and feet help them as much as their fingers and hands do. When they started, both of them realized that they had found something challenging to do that would build their core strength as well as elsewhere. I am amazed every time I go in the gym to watch them--sometimes there are people everywhere climbing on these man-made "boulders." The tags are color-coded routes, some much more difficult than others. At the beginning of each route there are two tags attached to a hold, sort of in an upside down V shape--the difficulty level is written on those two so you know if you're on an easier, beginner one, or on a much more difficult one. For me, they all appear totally impossible--I have little to no desire to climb up on anything because I am afraid of heights, for one thing, and I am only walking for exercise.Lynettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05092690457095379968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-255670630427934848.post-69475287486033489522011-08-11T21:54:19.434-05:002011-08-11T21:54:19.434-05:00Johnny Mathis wasn't visiting B'ham, was h...Johnny Mathis wasn't visiting B'ham, was he? <br /><br />I was walking back to my office from a hearing late this morning. A maintenance guy had a hose pointing at some plants and was not very careful about his aim. I have to walk through some bounces spray that covered my face.
