LATE BREAKING WEATHER!!!
Well look what happened in Birmingham overnight! This happens every few years - a very late snowfall when we THINK spring is here. Enjoy these images I captured this morning. It's still snowing and baby it's COLD outside!!!!
PS, Come back tomorrow for more. I've been jealous all winter of all your fabulous snow photos, I'm going to milk this one for all it's worth!

Both shots are lovely, the window is certainly unusual but I think I prefer the second. The distortions are amazing.
I recognized this window immediately! Last year I took in the Benjamin Franklin in Paris exhibit there,and remember this window!
Beautiful photos and a great way to highlight the glass theme, and Paris! I love the Carnavalet (my cousin used to work there!), especially the courtyard. These photos will definitely make people want to visit!

Bundle up, Virginia! It is COLD today in Pensacola so I know you're feeling it up there in Birmingham. All my toasty clothes for church today. I hope they've heated up the sanctuary, it's freezing on a mild day since the new parish budget was approved.

I instinctively knew this one was from Your Paris collection. Abosutley fine by me.Unusual design. What I like is within certain circles there are complete images, windows within windows. Accident or design? Ilike the wndow, it reminds me of a wine rack,a t its is Paris afterall.
Beautiful photo for the theme day. Luckily our small smattering of snow is now melting, but it's still cold. I didn't believe the forecasts. I just hope my garden doesn't wilt. :(

Hi there! First time visiting your blog and I am glad I did. You have a great eye for photography. Both photos of the window are good but I really like the first one. I love the way the buildings look through the glass. Makes the whole photo look like a painting. btw, can anyone join in on the glass photos of the dailys?
BHM blanketed in the dreaded white stuff, how fun! My job at Delta was challenging last night as folks got the news that their ATL flights were cancelled...what a mess!

You said that neige was one of your favorite words in French. How nice that you can share your snow with us. I don't think the snow is going to make it to Charleston. Quel dommage!
I would have stayed home myself, people in Minnesota can't even drive right after the first snow. I hope you have lots of hot chocolate and marshmallows and a good book to read. And heat, lots of heat.

Finally, THERE & HERE are the snows of yesteryear! Such an exquisite building for your project...but I am more drawn to your house wrapped in snow! You know how enchanted we Southern children are when it comes to our snow! I have had to take a morning drive about the lovliest village...and Samford Park could have doubled for Central Park with all the bundled kids and prancing dogs and proudly sculpted snowmen! It was quite a scene!

I have never seen Auburn blanketed in snow. I"ll bet Samford Hall was gorgeous!!!!
More shots to come. I have a lot to share. I understand if you folks who live in the "North Pole" don't feel like gushing about snow since you've had your fill, but please indulge the southerners for a few days. Oh, and the best part????? We didn't lose power!!!!

Yipee, yea! I knew you'd have great snow photos. It was so pretty. Sadly, it has all melted now, but it was great while it lasted!

OOoo, roses in the snow. Keep warm, my dear! They've been reporting on the storm on NPR here. Hope you are enjoying a warm cuppa something. I love your snow shots, and my fave is the iron fencing--so beautiful. And no apology needed for showing us that wonderfully framed Paris view through the round glass panes! That's a big treat.

Actually it's a red camellia. I'm sitting here at my computer on the front and can see them on my neighbor's bush. The sun is out, the snow is melting and it likes those gorgeous red blooms made it through!
I just read about the snow in Alabama and immediately stopped by because I knew you'd have photos of the snow! I hope you got out and took lots and lots of photos. I can't wait to see more tomorrow! here's to it all melting quickly and none of your beautiful plants being any worse for wear. Stay warm!

Yeah, Virginia! We still have power as well, though a few places took some destruclive blows from a tornado yesterday. And guess what...NO SCHOOL for my system...this kid is sleeping late! Then I am looking here for more snow pictures of The Ham (my son's affectionate name for the Magic City).

Yeah, I've been hearing about your blizzard all day on NPR. So much for the magnolias, eh? I don't know, maybe it will build character.
And, um, what's wrong with a picture of Paris? The Marias is charming as can be. The window's design reminds be of another form of glass - it looks like a wine rack viewed from the side. We should each go pour another glass. (Sorry about the pun.)
I think our flowers are OK. It was all gone by 5 this afternoon. TOnight? I hear below freezing but we'll see. We have these late winter snows and the flowers seem to do OK! Fun while it lasted.

The picture at the bottom and the one in the middle with bird houses and the bench are gorgeous. At the same time they are frosted and so warm. It must be so fine to be in these low houses under a snowy roof(the one for human and the one for bird)
