City Federal Building
These sunset photographs were taken from my very talented artist friend,
Kevin Irwin's studio near downtown Birmingham. The top photo is the City Federal Building in the distance. The reflection you see is Kevin's studio. The bottom photo is the old Liberty National Building on southside. Kevin hosted our Cliff Road Women's group yesterday afternoon. I am fortunate to be a part of this interesting, diverse and fun group of women from my neighborhood. Everyone had a grand time touring the studio and oohhing and aahing over her amazing artwork. You've already been to her studio
here. We'll be back. I have tons of photos.

Buildings and rooftops in the sunset. Very beautiful, and they remind me how lazy I've been this winter to get out at that time of evening and shoot. I may venture out on our building's roof soon...
j'adore la première photo, ce reflet avec cette lumiere, grandiose. Photo prise avec un trépied ?
I love the first photograph, this image with this lumiere, grandiose. Photograph appraise with a tripod?
wonderful photograhs where you've really captured the beautiful soft light and reflections too. What more than a girl ask for?!
I love the first one, so so beautiful with all the little details in the window, jars and rug.
Just back from a week away from blogging! Checked what you have done in the meantime! Impressed (of course)! Such an activity - participating, visiting...! Bravo! (Not forgetting about taking nice photos.)
With the rich colors of sunset glow you breathe on your images a kind of life into the buildings.

Nice photography. I like this post. I also love reflections, especially in shiny paint, like on automobiles, at odd angles.

The evening reflection with the lights coming on is stunning and I love the way the light strikes the building in the second..very satisfying.
This demonstrates perfectly my little lesson last week about the golden hour or magic hour when the sun rays slant rather than bounce straight on. Lovely earthy golden tones. Finally got one snow day on the the blog today. Can you re send your photo link "latest my gallery" images you sent this week. Darned thing won't open.
Perfect environment for such warm tones!
Beautiful view :)
Sunsets ! Ever new, never the same ! Just a few moments of joy and beauty to catch with your camera...
Olivier,
No tripod last night. I did brace my camera on things around the studio when the sun set.
Peter,
Glad to see you back with us. Hope your mom is doing well and you enjoyed seeing her and your OLD friends -HA
B,
I'm rarely in a spot to catch a good sunset at that hour. Kevin's studio is on the second floor and is perfect to catch that light on the buildings.
Very neat reflections! Sorry I have not been commenting in French lately. I'm just too busy to think! :-)
But I have found a reason to come visit Birmingham this summer... there's a Robert Trent Jones golf course nearby and my husband can't say no to that!!
I think I prefer the second one. Photos with window reflections are problematic. The reflection from the camera's side of the window really has to say something to make it work. The lower picture has the interesting combination of warm sunset tones on the right side of the building and deep, cool shadow. Makes for a good color effect.
Both shots are great but the 1st one is just WOW! Fantastic sunset colours and great composition.
That top shot is very interesting. So multi-dimensional. I like it!
Lovely shades. The sun creates some beautiful colours.
Never knew this six months ago, but must visit Birmingham. I'm assuming there's an excellent bistro or two...
AH,
Could Bistro translate to Bar B Q joint? If so, come on down sistah! I can hardly wait, but you better be bringing your County Extension Officer, Albert. If not, don't bother.

I like the photo the top the most with its reflections! Beautiful!
It's romantic time i think,,
wonderful ^^
I love Birmingham, Alabama. The people are so nice. I love the Oak Mountain Area, spent long summer days there, with my girlfriend. So beautiful
