Today, a shot of my friend Connor that I took at Rickwood Field. Some of you may remember that I have shared other photos from Rickwood, here and here. It's America's Oldest Baseball Field and we are quite proud of it. It has been lovingly preserved down to the vintage signs on the outfield fencing. The Friends of Rickwood Field have done a nice job of keeping it up to par. Maybe we'll see Connor play there one day!

Agree with Maya. Takes me back to my youth! Good luck capturing the Baby Ruths... I used to eat those all the time...

When it is "the French"'s (Roland Gazrros) time, one can notice plenty people paying tennis everywere. Maybe it is normal : the weather is nice then.

What's interesting to me is the array of names on the board. Baseball has come a long way.

Very cool shot. Some things just don't change, that could have been taken anytime since photography exists, I love it!
My husband remembers going there with his grandfather to see the Birmingham Baron's, a double AA baseball team. However, what must have been most memorable for him was seeing James Brown there 1960 or '61! He remembers taking the bus down 3rd Avenue, and the stop for Rickwood was stll three or more blocks away. I believe several films which required a scene -of- or -in- a vintage stadium have featured it.
