Stranger # 96
What a great smile, and love the hair!
Java remembered me from our chat at the 2008 Artwalk. We had a
good visit, and of course I had to take a photo of my friend while he painted right there on the street.
Let's be honest here. I am as busy as you are, and when I perused my photo stash, there was just nothing current to post. OH NO POUTING NOW...... I dug around and found three nice portraits I took last September at Birmingham's terrific
ARTWALK! It all worked out and look, you get to meet one new stranger, one bagpipe player and say hello again to our artist friend
Java Lewis. I promise to take my camera with me tomorrow. Fair warning, you might get some shots from inside the Apple Store or Target or....... the mess, I mean the wrapping station in my basement. HO HO HO!!!
The bagpipe player was in conversation so I quietly took her photo.

3 great portraits so worth sharing! Stranger #96 is just adorable.
(PS - Are you checking those Christmas lists twice? What are the most desired toys of the season? I do miss those days.)
these are beautiful portraits. I wish I didn't miss out on this strangers project, it really is a great idea.
I like your portraits too and in black and white, no less.
Thank you for the kind comment about my portrait of Audrey.
Virginia...you don't have to explain!!! I especially love portrait #96. It inspires me to start taking more photos of people.
Have a very Merry Christmas!
Why so busy? Your acting like it's Christmas or something.
Great portraits. We're all squeezed for time these days. I take my camera along but often never get it out. These work splendidly. It's just good to see what you and your lens have seen, V.
lily,
You can start the project any time you feel the spirit move you! It's great fun.
Abe,
Audrey's portrait is stunning.
Brattcat,
It's going with me today for sure!

Yikes it's just around the corner!
Lori and Tash,
What a great smile he had but the what got my attention was his hair!
I'm partial to bagpipes. Really.
(Everyone's waiting for the rest of your story chez moi.)
I was in the Apple Store last night lusting over that Imac with the 27 inch screen
Happy Holidays
You can find some interesting characters while strolling the streets of Birmingham, huh? I really never understood bagpipes. And as for yesterdays post, my mom and I went down to the fish market yesterday (before I looked at the post) and when we passed the apartments you pictured we started talking about them. Hope you can get inside the building- that would be interesting.
Rip,
Maybe you all need to go along with me when I go to photograph the carousel carving school there! And so why exactly was I not included on the Fish Market lunch???? It's one of my favorite places. Sigh!!!
PA,
Oh the place was hopping today. No sagging economy at the Apple Store. No sirreee!
Hiker,
I'm coming. Actually my tale isn't all that funny but that's never held me back.
Wonderful photos. And each showing a different emotion.
Cheers.

«Louis», being wide of part and extended of forehead is jealous of the hair in the first image....
Great photos. I'v pretty much ran out of things to post! Might be my christmas tree soon! Where does the time go?! Its nearly Christmas!!
Marley,
Don't think I didn't think of my tree but this year I did a terrible job with the garland and I'm too embarrassed to show it! Have mercy!
Louis,
Eat your heart out!
Blossom,
thanks for your visit and comment. Please visit often!
a bagpipe playing girl scout! Where's the cookies I wONDER
Well, archives diving or not, you done good. The personality and visual clarity that comes out of the first one is terrific.
Well we actually went to get a present for my dad- you know those old copper pots? We thought he'd like one. You know how dads are to shop for. Ugh! But you can surely join us the next time for lunch!
Rip,
Do they sell thost pots at the Fish Market or did you...ummm slip one out?? :) See you all tomorrow night !
Bob,
I'm still diving. Things have got to look up . Then again, after Christmas things could be more dismal. You've hit the Mother Lode recently.
KM,
No but my granddaughter is selling cookies. How many can I put you down for???? And BTW, your blog has had me rolling in the floor lately . Bravo!
Great people shots as always!
