See what wonders a little Clone Stamp can do? This has terrific atmosphere.
I haven't read Sandburg in a long time. My main connection is the parody of Chicago on Andy's blog. I fondly remember the poetry parodies Mad magazine used to publish when we were young, referring to this author as Carl Sandbag.
Oh I love this view! The fog has been really amazing! I also love the poem...we used to sing a song with those words as the lyrics in Middle School...I loved it!
I love fog in the morning but I prefer when it lifts later on. Foggy afternoons are usually much too cold. I love it when the sun slowly makes its way through....

V - Love the fog - if I don't have to drive in it. Great photo - you can just "feel it!
Back here we wood call it a, Smoggy Overcast Afternoon.
Fragile and delicate, Virginia. Its inherent beauty is enhanced by your monochrome treatment.
magnifique, l'arbre fait penser a un dessin a l'encre de chine
That's a nice shot.
I've always been partial to bare limbs.
How beautiful this is.
Love the image; love the poem.
You really set a mood with image and commentary. Well done, V.
Olivier,
OUi!!
Brattcat,
Fog is just the most fun to try and capture.
Birdman,
Glad you do. Thanks for stopping by!
Julie,
Thank you!
Jilly,
Do you ever have fog there? I don't remember you ever posting photos of it. I guess Monte Carlo is always sunny, right??? :)
Judy,
As I say, "Forg is the photographer's friend"!
Wayne,
HA, that's a good one! :)
CO,
Oh don't worry, we have our share of smog!
Perfect words to go along with a beautiful photo.

Very dramatic and mysterious...
Bob,
Ummm, a little rough but passable I think.
Daryl,
Do not race down that path or you'll be over the edge!
Chieftess,
Fog is just the best for atmosphere!
Thanks everyone. I chased the fog all over the place to get this one decent one. It's elusive!

Une belle photo telle une oeuvre d'art, un brin mélancolique.
Nice shot V.
And I like the quote too!
and I love that fence/gate/wall...as creaky as me
Ciel,
Vrai, trés melancolique!
KM,
I'm creaky too and I'm probably twice your age!
Virginia, this is a very fine monochrome image.
Nicely done-
Aloha, Friend!
Comfort Spiral
Moody, misty - a masterpiece!
We had dense fog this morning, too. Of course most of it was gone by the time I got up, but Lois Anne told me about it! ;-)

I love fog and Sandburg's poem. This is a scary photo...reminds me of some scene from the old bw Night of the Living Dead...
Well done to capture the fog. We seldom get fog. Snow on the other hand...
Great photo Virginia!

Nature provides the beauty and Virginia captures it in a photo for us --- merci.
