Les Fleurs de Noël

A quick trip back to Sweet Peas Garden Shop today to take in the lush blooms of Christmas!

White hydrangeas and red poinsettias. Beautiful together.

I love the heady scent of freshly blooming paperwhites this time of year.

This was always my mom's favorite color poinsettia.

Give me the paper whites anyday. I don't know quite why but poinsettias never did it for me.

Wishing you and yours a most joyous holiday season.

Did you see the blog yesterday that featured bright blue poinsettias? Very unusual, altho I prefer your traditional red and pink poinsettias.

Beautiful flowers for the season. This year I have a poinsettia that peachy color...love it. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

PS. If you're interested in seeing the the blue plant, it's on Jarart's Phoenix blog.

Thank you for this living splash of color on a dreary gray day. The paperwhites are especially lovely.

Your mom and I agree -- I always buys this color. And I could just smell those paperwhites.

Julie, thanks for the heads up regarding our friend Chuckeroon at http://richmonduponthamesdailyphoto.blogspot.com/2009/12/pause-in-service.html

If you follow his blog, please jump over and leave him a comment. He's going to need lots of prayers and good wishes through his recovery.

Ah - color, color, color and appropriate to the season.

I was going to post a picture on Friday of a toy mother and baby polar bear in front of a Buddhist thanka with a big Christmas bow photoshopped onto it but my editor thinks it might offend Buddhists. We'll have to find something or other.

Bob,
You're smart to listen to that editor! Keeping you in line is a full time job I would think! :)

It’s that time of year again! I’m doing the rounds and apologising for my complete failure to more regularly offer comment on everybody’s incredible efforts for the year. I know how hard it can be to keep up with the daily grind of everyday posting, and want to thank you for your efforts.

I especially want to wish festive greetings for all from down here at [nearly] the end of the world, the bottom of Tasmania.

So, if you could delete whatever is not applicable, I’d like to wish you a very pleasant/merry/happy/wonderful/safe Amaterasu; Ashurall; Beiwe; Choimus; Christmas; Dazh Boh; Dongzhi; Goru; Hanukkah; Hogmanay; Junkanoo; Karachun; Koleda; Lenæa; Meán Geimhridh; Modranicht; New Years; Ras as-Sana; Rozhanitsa Feast; Şeva Zistanê; shōgatsu; Summer Solstice [if you're in the Southern Hemisphere]; Sviatki; Vánoce; Winter solstice [if you're in the Northern Hemisphere]; Yalda; Yule-tide; Ziemassvētki; and Коляда!

With a hearty three cheers from Kris, Jen, Henry and Ezra!
