A Paris Moment Right Here in Birmingham

Next time you're feeling that maybe a little trip to Paris is what you need, visit Charlotte Woodson Antiques in Mt. Brook Village. Owner Dinah Toro and I are kindred spirits. We share a love of Paris and have had some delightful conversations reminiscing about our trips there, sitting in her comfy old slipcovered armchairs. The shop is like a little trip back to Paris pour moi. Today, just a sampling. We'll be back, as I'm sure you've guessed!

How lovely. Love the wood and reflection and what a charming cradle.

I agree with Jilly. The wood tones are so warm, the reflection so intriguing, and that little cradle so dear.

Yes, take us back. I love places like this.

That's my kind of shop.

Oh Virg, I was just reading about the further shenanigans of your ex-gov. Apparently Bingo was very very good to him.

Oops, ex-mayor, I mean.

Looks charming and old world. Stop by today and next Saturday for your installment of Weekend Getaways to you know where.

Hiker,
Our ex-mayor is the "gift" that keeps on giving.....I'm mean GETTTING! Good riddance!

That first picture is fabulous (not that the second is a slacker). The way you got the lettering projecting onto the old door, fading away to nothingness, is a good metaphor for an antique shop.

Merci my friends. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit here. We'll all come back for another visit or two, I know I will!

Oh, I could do some serious damage to my Visa card in this shop. Maybe I could borrow the Hiker's Carbon card!

I need to google your mayor, I mean ex-mayor. I don't know the scoop.

Love these shots, Ms. V.

Here's the NYT article, Laurie. Or just google "birmingham larry langford." I finally just did it today myself.

Our former mayor has gotten just what he deserves, or close to it. Gives a whole new meaning to "scoundrel"! And he had the nerve to pull the race card. Good grief.

Indeed, a Paris moment!

very quaint.
Both photos are lovely and convey a sense of light and airy space.

I like the crack in that wooden panel, too. Gives a sense of well-worn age.
