Earlier in the week, I was enjoying this terrific spring weather on my patio and noticed that the sky was a particularly gorgeous blue! I took this photo from the comfort of my Adirondack chair! Notice the pinus palustris Miller ( Southern longleaf pine ) in the photo. My California blog friends were curious as to what kind of pines we have in Birmingham, so here you go, the State Tree of Alabama. I hope your spring weather is a glorious as ours right now.
Today one of my favorites, Willie Nelson, has a tune for you right here.

V, We've had some beautiful days since your departure BUT this sky is unbelievable! Thanks for taking us there.
It's been cold and stormy up here in New England with occasional welcome breaks in the gray. I'd love to be sitting beside you taking in that gorgeous sky.
Brattcat and Judy,
I wish you both were sitting my be looking up!

Hiker,
A %$#@ chipmunk ate one of my succulents you gave me. Waaaaaaa!
Costas,
Thank you! I hope you have a great one too!
Okay, I'm drifting back toward civilization. I don't have much knowledge of vegetation. I can tell a brussel sprout from a beet but don't push me on the tall stuff. I know a nice blue sky when I see one, though. This is a nice blue sky.
Nice sky and barking shot.
I like your favorite two.
This one is one of mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVC5wNWTlUY
V: Chipmunks don't %$#@ and eat at the same time.
Bob , you're excused dute to lack of expertise!:)

Oh yes! Those are the kinds of pines we have here too. They're nice to look at, but I hate all those needles in the fall. And the worries during storms! :)
Over in North Carolina, people say "If God is not a Tarheel, why is the sky Carolina blue???"
Your sky there in Birmingham is definitely NOT Carolina blue! Reminds me of our own in North Georgia.
And I loved the Willie Nelson link!!!
Thank you!
Fabulous .. I sort of expected to see Curious George atop that tree
