Smoke Stacks?

It's been many, many years (39 to be exact) since these old stacks at Sloss Furnaces were smoking but last week the clouds made it look like they were back in business!

For my faithful blog friends that are following the adventures of my new kitty Meeps. Click here to see how she got her name and how my precious blog friend and artist, Shell Sherree has made her famous.
Bises dear Shell!

I like these! Yours are from a furnace and mine are from a heating plant!

So glad the smoke is gone! I can remember going to B'ham as a child and seeing all the smoke in the distance...was not a pretty sight!

I grew up on the western side of town and remember when we would have to sweep the coal dust off our front porch every morning. (boy, I'm old)

The clouds do look a bit like smoke. Although I guess the smoke in the old days was probably not so white. :)

My first association was with the monolith in 2001. Birmingham used to be right up there with Pittsburgh. Now all the steel comes from China, right?
