Ask anyone from the south what these are, and they'll say, "Peach baskets!" Of course farmers use them for a variety of fruits and vegetables, but we still call 'em peach baskets. Nowadays they display them in these but put your purchases in plastic bags. If you can get your hands on one, consider yourself lucky!

Some beautiful things from the past are getting slowly out of commission Virginia.
Have a great day.

nothing better than a peach basket to hold pretty much anything.
there are few things more delightful than picking peaches on a warm afternoon. i confess to eating a sun-warmed peach or two while picking. what joy that burst of peachness in the mouth with the sweet juice cascading down my arm all the way to my elbow.
Off to the farmer's market, V?! Go GREEN and skip the plastic bags - plus just think how European you'd look strolling around with your veggie basket!
Fabulous! i love them.
Way better than plastic!!! And peaches from the Farmer's Market are waaaay better than peaches from the grocery store!!!
Who you calling a basket case (rightly or wrongly)? These empty baskets are all about potential. When do the peaches come in?
The Chilton County peaches aren't in yet, are they? I think it's still too early. Love those peaches! I've never had a sun-warmed one, but I know sun-warmed tomatoes are the best!
V, Love the baskets and pretty much imagine I'd love what might be collected in them....yummy!
I'll bet Meeps would REALLY love one of these - my kitties sure would.. :-)
il me faudrait un panier aussi joli pour mes cerises
