I spotted this downtown in
Bromberg's Jewelers window. Sadly they have closed this downtown store but
reopened recently for a special sale. This was Bromberg's flagship store, but unfortunately our downtown area has seen most of its retail business move to the suburbs.

The death of a downtown is heartbreaking. I'm so sorry to hear of it. That is a wonderful image, though.

A wonderful shot - so many varied reflections! I had to look closely to see the torso. I guess it was to be draped with necklaces, etc.?
I just read the article you linked to. How ironic that they reopened the downtown store (temporarily) in order to close a suburban mall store! Maybe they will eventually reopen the downtown store permanently. Are Parisian's and other stores still operating inside the Harbert building? There are so many attractions downtown to draw people - Art Museum, library, McWane science museum. I wish it could be revitalized.
Sad...does the downtown need to be renovated? Or is it just out of the way and not a draw anymore?
I do love the shot, though it tells a sad tale.
I thank you all for your comments today. Yes, it is sad when businesses leave our downtown. THe good news is that many buildings have been renovated by financial/ legal offices. THere are business leaders committed to revitalizing our downtown. I"ll keep you posted.

Yeah, same here. Downtown used to be packed with jewelers. All gone now. But I love the picture, with its blending of inside and outside.
