CDP Theme Day - Under Construction....Rebuilding

Last year my friends and neighbors Caroline and E.T. Brown lost their beautiful old home to a devastating house fire.  There wonderful and welcoming front porch, on the left, featured the rock that graces many old Forest Park homes.  The good news is that they are rebuilding and much of the rock has been saved for the new porch.  I'll do another shoot when our wine group can again gather at the Browns and toast their new home.

Today is the first day of the month so City Daily Photobloggers around the world are posting their "Under Construction" photos for this month's theme. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants.

Good news. What a harrowing time it must have been.

How disheartening to lose a house to a fire. Rebuilding is such a chore. And a long one at that. Good luck to them.

May they know only joy in the home resurrected from the ashes of the fire. I was thinking along the same lines for today's theme.

How tragic. I wish your friends luck through the stressful days ahead.

From the older picture and your description, I'm assuming that it was an old, charming home...looks like a Craftsman...a tragedy on top of the tragedy of losing one's home and all that that encompasses, but also to lose another old home that was lovingly cared for...very sad...I'm so glad they're rebuilding and planning to use the old stone!!!

wv: plogr....a plodding blogger???

A rather poignant and personal post - perfect for the theme!

Re your horse farm: Can you find out where the horse farm is located in Ocala...we could go visit and then perhaps we could do a double post with links to each others site...is that of interest to you?

Why does this make me think of that old song?

You load 16 tons and what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt.

More hard rock than the cafe.

This porch deserves a second chance.

Glad to know this will be rebuilt. Rocks go on forever or pretty much. I do like the idea of rebuilding for this theme.

It must be horrible to lose a home in fire.. so much memories go away with it.At least your friends had strength and courage for a rebirth.
