This was taken last Friday when the temps was probably in the high 30's, but we found at least five varieties of ferns growing out of the bricks and rocks here at Sloss Furnaces.
Funny that you started about five varieties of ferns. I ought to say three varieties of iron piping from the old days but that of course is the pre occupation of the brain. But the color balance is great here.
Back when we lived in North Carolina, I spent many weekends transplanting ferns from the woods to around our house. Of course, our house was pretty much in the woods too but I was too impatient to wait for them to re-propogate by themselves after the bulldozers had their way with our lot. Anyway, I like your green and red mixture ! And I miss my ferns.

The colors are great. I would love to visit the Sloss Furnace property with my camera.
Love this shot!

I love your blog! I've added you to my blogroll to keep up with all your awesome photos of our hometown.

Nice! Your "new eye" is working quite well!!!
Good shot!
I'm always drawn to ferns. They seem a constant from year to year.
Love the textures and colors here!
I'm really sorry Sloss was closed the day we went by there. Life clings to the rock in the oddest places, our two cities included.
Wonderful! Gorgeous colours!
