Soon the
Birmingham Barons will be playing on their brand new field just across from Railroad Park just south of downtown. They have been playing ball in this city since 1885! You'll have to cut me some slack on this photo today, there's still a lot of construction going on, so I had to snap this through a chain link fence. I'm hoping to talk my way inside one day soon, before the
opening game in April!

1885? Now, there's some baseball history!
There must be a lot of excitment around!
I'm looking forward to the start of baseball too. I enjoy going to minor league games much more than to professional ball games.
I did think of your great Paris "rouge" pictures when that woman walked into my shot the other day. Sometimes you just get lucky.
A long-established tradition! Seems this place will be looking very spiffy in time for April!
Pretty cool. I know you're not crazy about baseball but I wish I had a chance to see more minor league games - much cheaper, much more laid back than the terribly expensive Cardinals games. Only been to one, many years ago in Des Moines.
I really do have to take in a game. I can follow the game and enjoy it, but it's been awhile since I've seen one.
