A Fitting Farewell

Yesterday the city of Birmingham, along with fire departments from stations across Jefferson County said goodbye to Birmingham Fire Chief Ivor Brooks, Sr. who gave 32 years in service.

The area around the funeral at the 16th Avenue Baptist Church was lined with more fire trucks than I could count.  It was a beautiful tribute to Chief Brooks.

The solidarity of fire fighters is always moving. These two shots are remarkable.

Long lines of fire trucks are a staple of parades in middle and smaller size cities. We get lots. They have gravitas and impressive power.
