Bottega , Birmingham's Favorita!

Bottega Restaurant and Cafe are two more of Chef Frank Stitt's terrific restaurants * in Birmingham.  Located in the historic Bottega Favorita building on Highlands Avenue, they offer Italian, north African and Mediterranean cuisine.  For casual dining, the Cafe is a popular spot of dinner and drinks.  For a more formal dining experience, the restaurant offers an elegant setting and menu to match.
* Highlands Bar and Grill and Chez Fonfon  are known for their French cuisine and are also owned and managed by Stitt and his wife Pardis.

This looks very classic and European in style, V. I bet it's one of Birmingham's high class restaurant(?).

Thank you for your kind words and comment on my 100th post. You are one of the earliest friends and most faithful commenters on my blog. Thank you.

Virginia, you have convinced me that Los Angeles has nothing on Birmingham's dining experience! Wow, that looks like a fabulous restaurant. ANd your photos are spectacular, as always.

Well, I sure didn't know that Birmingham had all these fine restaurants! What a treat! We usually just head to Cracker Barrel.

Looks more like the County Court to me, V. ;-)

This is such a wonderful place. On one side, fine dining, the other, a casual cafe. My husband and I had our wedding reception here 10 years ago this halloween! We took some out of town guests to eat on the fancy side a few weeks ago. I am definitely a food lover and critic. I had the most wonderful handmade pasta I have ever tasted with lobster, mushrooms and herbs, very aromatic and light. If you ever visit our city and want to visit one restaurant this would be it.

Bon apetit!

I like that they have both a cafe & a up-scale restaurant. OK - you know what's coming now - I really like the colors :) of the cafe. I would LOVE to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon there.

Chef Frank Stitt is doing very well in Birmingham. He's like a one-man restaurant empire.

Looks like just the spot to take in after a day at the office. It's interesting to learn about what other cities have to offer in the way of dining experiences. B-town seems to do exceptionally well. Have a superb tomorrow!

Ming,
Frank Stitt is the best thing that has happened to B'ham. He has put us "on the map".

yet another fabulous post that challenges my perceptions of the old south. Good Italian in Birmingham? You bet!
