Mother Nature, Could You Make Up Your Mind? Part I

OK, this is the deal.  On Monday it was frightfully cold ( 26F)  by Birmingham standards.  I present the evidence.  This is my daughter's fountain.  Nice ice formations don't you think?? You will also recall that on  December 23rd, I featured manmade snow on this very blog!  I am sure most of you are thinking this is very typical winter weather, so what's the big deal?  See you tomorrow for Part II- the rest of the story

Oh my gosh! and I thought it had been cold here in L.A. Not! Can't wait for Part II...I want to see the fountain when it's "running" - looks beautiful.

Ah yes... reminds me of Texas' famously bi-polar winter weather. (I remember one year swimming outdoors on Christmas Eve...and then iced over on Christmas day.)

THat's one impressive fountain, V.

Today in Sydney was 29C, with extreme humidity concluding with an intense electrical storm. However, this morning - and up until noon - a good deal of where I live was swathed in fog.

Looks like the tap in my bathroom in my first teeny little rooftop apartment in Paris.... It was mighty cold in there, but it was French cold! Great photos, and hadn't realized it was that cold down your way.

The ice makes stunning photos on your daughter fountain, but I wish you have warmer days soon!
Here weather has changed too! From the sunniest Christmas days to grey, rainy and pretty ugly!...

So what's happening to B'ham? Locusts next? Really like the second picture. The face on the wall plaque looks very, very ill.

Bob,
You'll have to wait till tomorrow. What part of NYC are you and Ming terrorizing today? I want to see the inside of the Apple Store is you get by there. You both have new cameras, you should be a twosome! Oh and I need a new vegetable peeler-HA

Ah yes, we DID have one or two wintry nights and days this season! But today, our windows are open.

Hmmm, reminds me of all that bad writing, "he said frostily," "She sneered coldly." "He purred icily." "She said, dripping with sarcasm."

That shot of the fountain is fantastic!

Looking at your "stalactites" I am sure now that, what I saw this morning outside in our backyard, was frost and not the snowflakes remains I was hoping for...

So glad the tune wasn't Ice Ice baby. It is an intriguing image an ice sculpture escaped from Narnia.

B,
It WAS "Ice, Ice Baby". I HATE that kind of music but did it to pacify my daughters who think I never pick anything "hip"! HA

Golly, your daughters must be related to my daughter!

Ok I am living in a parallel universe I got music but not Vanilla Ice, some lilting byrds type of jangling guitars. I often get different songs to the ones I read on here. Einstein theory of relativity perhaps.
