STARS - la tour Eiffel
My talented friend Mary Beth Shelton and I did a portrait swap this week. My new avatar is her work. She and I met a year ago when we were in a photography class together. We have learned from each other ever since. I admire her work and was so honored that she asked me to photograph her. Check out her website!

Wonderful & NO FAIR! You first make us green with envy for going to Paris and now we get the stars too. :)
It really is a wonderful interpretation. I never get tired of looking at the Eiffel tower.
Very creative and appropriate interpretation, V. The Eiffel looks even grander from this angle, and the bamboo forest feels peaceful.
I like the new avatar photo very much - it would make a good one for a author picture at the back of a book. & wow -
Mary Beth Shelton is extremely talented.
Hey V - looking at you from Scottsdale tonight - sharing your beautiful photos with our cousins. They love 'em too! Great interpretation of "Stars & Stripes"!
Well the bamboo is pretty and all that (and you really captured the light well), but you KNOW that the photo of the Eiffel Tower is making me yearn for Paris again. Only 7 more months and I'll be Paris bound. And actually I think you've captured both "Stars and Stripes" in your Eiffel Tower photo!
Hey, that's the second time I've encountered Madame la Tour Eiffel today! The other shot was in the Twin Cities! I do hope you will manage to visit Versailles, tourist or not!!! ;-))
A very nice interpretation Virginia!
Clever as always. (You have been to Versailles, haven't you? Not just the chateau, but the whole city is charming.)
An excellent choice, natural stripes, and stars on Eiffel. Funny, I posted an Eiffel photo today, great minds think alike.
I like the stripes photo the best. Beautiful shadow play on the bamboo.
V,
as soon as I saw the "STRIPES" I couln't follow the "Two Things Challenge" theme. I'm sorry, but this amazing photo "The Bamboo Forest" vault me back to SEAsia.
Thank you.
Juergen
A smart interpretation of the theme. Sometimes you just have to jump into the deep end right? Bravo!
Nice interpretation of the theme, Virginia!
I'll be joining in with 2 things this week. My photo could well be the strangest I've ever tsken. Random is the word! It'll be up later, check it out.
Love your interpretations especially the bamboo.
Both great shots and fitting for the challenge. I especially like the stars one. Lovely new photo of you too!
AH,
No never been to Versailles but am now hoping that I can meet cieldequimper and have her show me around town. That would be super!!
la tour Eiffel seems to be a pretty popular gal today around the blogs. I guess I'm about la tour, like Bob Crowe is the arch. Can't get enough. Maybe this summer I will finally make it to her feet with a tripod for some decent night shots.
Thanks everyone for your nice comments today!

Love your new avatar, V! So pretty! I agree with Tash, it's perfect for the author pic of your book.
Also very creative work for the 2 things challenge! Now I'm off to see more of Mary Beth's work.
My new favourite the iconic French one of course. I have never been to a photography class. I confess I'm self taught. Question. Have you learnt more from actually doing outside the classroom? Off to bed. Why so late? Sifting through some Nice and Montpellier pics for someone called Pierre who happened upon my blog.
Well, I know where your heart lies right now, and it ain't in B'ham. La Tour Eiffel ain't the only thing in Paris full of stars. Think of the restaurants in the Michelin Guide or the tourists' eyes.
Bob,
You are right my friend. I left my heart in Paris for sure. Glad you and Mrs. C. will see it soon for your anniversary. You romantic devil you!
B.,
Oh yes I need many many photography classes . I have a lot to learn.
It's not that far fetched I got it!!!!
