Where's the Fire???

Well I've been wanting to visit a fire station forever.  Yesterday I stopped by the Mountain Brook Fire Station No. 1 in Crestline.  They were happy to have me poke around but didn't want to be photgraphed. Well,  we'll just see about that on my next trip, don't fret.  They were nice enough to offer to pull the truck out for me, but I couldn't ask them to do all that!  Here's what I got.  I just love the flag that hangs above each truck!  Don't worry, I'll catch some "100 Strangers" next time,  and you can bet there will be grandchildren involved, too!

When I see a photo like the one you took with the American flag, Robert Frank comes to my mind.

the light on the windshield makes it look like ram horns - really interesting.
The 1st photo is kind of cozy looking in the afternoon sun.

Sorry to have been absent a bit---school stuff.

I really like the first shot. This fireman has his own lightwalk to guide him to his gear!

I'm about to check out Kevin's site! I love Cleo...

I love both of these, V. You always make your collections of objects look full of life and expectation. There is nothing still about your still life stuff.

That flag and firetruck is really moving. I just love your eye, girlfriend.

Love the fire station! Say, how about grandchildren on the fire truck, then those fire fighters surely would have their portraits taken.

Two answers to a question in my childhood "What's your calling wish?": "Engine driver or fireman!"

So I love fire stations until today. Thank you for this post.

The fire station in my town is not far from my house. I hear the trucks whenever they pull out of their garage. What a debt of gratitude we owe these people. I love the flag over each truck especially!

for some reason, everyone loves fire stations?!

I'm not sure why but they're inviting. Most of the time, the doors are wide open. I like the vibe.

A nice play with the shadow in the top picture. It is exactly like God's finger showing something important...
I like that very much.

Kitty, They are inviting and this one was no exception. I plan to right back!

Cergie,
I like your description... God's finger showing the important! Merci.
