Well I've been wanting to visit a fire station forever. Yesterday I stopped by the Mountain Brook Fire Station No. 1 in Crestline. They were happy to have me poke around but didn't want to be photgraphed. Well, we'll just see about that on my next trip, don't fret. They were nice enough to offer to pull the truck out for me, but I couldn't ask them to do all that! Here's what I got. I just love the flag that hangs above each truck! Don't worry, I'll catch some "100 Strangers" next time, and you can bet there will be grandchildren involved, too!

When I see a photo like the one you took with the American flag, Robert Frank comes to my mind.
the light on the windshield makes it look like ram horns - really interesting.
The 1st photo is kind of cozy looking in the afternoon sun.
Sorry to have been absent a bit---school stuff.
I really like the first shot. This fireman has his own lightwalk to guide him to his gear!
I'm about to check out Kevin's site! I love Cleo...
la lumiere sur la première photo est magnifique. Superbe
the light on the first photograph is splendid. Haughtiness
Great catch on the first one and more to come in the near future.
I love both of these, V. You always make your collections of objects look full of life and expectation. There is nothing still about your still life stuff.
That flag and firetruck is really moving. I just love your eye, girlfriend.
Love the fire station! Say, how about grandchildren on the fire truck, then those fire fighters surely would have their portraits taken.
Two answers to a question in my childhood "What's your calling wish?": "Engine driver or fireman!"
So I love fire stations until today. Thank you for this post.

The ever-inquisitive Virginia strikes again! I love it...
Thanks for those! I love fire stations! They are great!
The fire station in my town is not far from my house. I hear the trucks whenever they pull out of their garage. What a debt of gratitude we owe these people. I love the flag over each truck especially!
Loving the top photo, great use of light and shadow. Glad you put a photo in of the shiny fire truck for us boys!
Marley,
Actually Monday's post and today's should have the guys taken care of! ha Glad you liked it. Anything red and shiny is right up my alley as you know.

Fire Light,
Yes we do owe them a huge thank you!
wow V, did you wait until the exact moment when the shaft of light aligned with the coat closet? wild!
KM,
Oh man, I sat there for hours waiting for the decisive moment! HA
Yeah, that light glowing up onto the lockers is spectacular. You have the gift, V.
I love the light in the first photo. Excellent shot! I'll be waiting to see the hunky firefighters on your next trip.
My question is where's the firemen? I dso like a fireman, Back to the photos. Bold comes to mind, and rich those luch reds and Provence yellows. Go get a fireman pic.
B and Halcyon,
I am working on the fireman thing.. I promise there will be hunky firemen next visit.

for some reason, everyone loves fire stations?!
I'm not sure why but they're inviting. Most of the time, the doors are wide open. I like the vibe.
A nice play with the shadow in the top picture. It is exactly like God's finger showing something important...
I like that very much.
Kitty, They are inviting and this one was no exception. I plan to right back!
Cergie,
I like your description... God's finger showing the important! Merci.
I love the light in the first picture, and the flag above the truck!
