I have been a huge fan of Lila's wonderful artwork for years! I finally met her in person last night at Monty Stabler Gallery in Homewood. Lila hails from Alexander City, Alabama (Alex City to the locals) and was in town for a reception and exhibit of her paintings and the dearest ceramic nativity figures. Her inspirational book, White Wings, chronicles her miraculous journey as a cancer survivor through photographs, artwork and verse. Yet another Alabama artist I have been fortunate to meet and photograph!

Very nice painting and a lovely young woman. More power to cancer suvivors!!
superbe portrait et les peintures sont magnifiques, j'aime bien la première photo, on a l'impression que la petite fille dans la toile présente la peintre
What a lovely person she is, such an open beautiful face. I love her work and thanks for the website. That first painting is really so strong - I loved Olivier's comment - she is standing is just the right place!
Funny, I could not get into the website; I'll try again later because I'd like to see more of her work. Picture of courage!! And, I'm going to try to find her book on Amazon, altho I still prefer to buy books from independent bookstores.
Olivier,
Ha, you are right. I thought the same thing!
Kate,
I had a time but I've got the link to her website working now I hope!
Bibi and Lily, yes,her paintings are wonderful!
Jilly,
I was pleased with her portrait as well. I always worry about low light you know!
She does beautiful work.
Wonderful work and photo of the artist and her art. A pleasure to meet her.
One of your best portraits, V. I love the angle of the light, she looks radiant.
You caught her and her work perfectly!
Well, that certainly hits home today - my oldest friend was found to have pancreatic cancer. This artist is full of charm. Her face and painting glow with exuberance. Putting the artist next to her work makes for a nice portrait.
She really is a talented artist and and inspiration for those who have to battle cancer.
She is lovely and the paintings are really splendid. What a blessing to have her as a surviver and so sad that she had to battle cancer esp. so young.
Her work is excellent. I can see why you'd be a fan of both the artist and the woman.
Mmmm, so much character in the little girl's face...Beautiful work.
