Vulcan , Birmingham's favorite iron guy, needs a little spiffing up from time to time. Tuesday,
CraneWorks provided the "cage" for these daredevil painters. For all you guys out there that mumble and gripe about painting the living room............things could be worse!
This will most likely be the last crane shot for many moons. Wayne, enjoy it while you can.

Ohh, a super picture!!
Look funny for me : )
Oooooh la la!!! What crane!!!
You had to crane your neck to get this one, I fear.
Wow - Vulcan is quite a huge statue! I just wish we had more statues here in Eagan! Zut, alors!
He appears to be "craning" his neck.
Love the whole concept of this ... the hardhat, the cage, the crane, the statue needing its touch up ...
Looks like Vulcan has buns of steel, ha, ha.
Ah, a companion piece to the reclining nude who was getting polished in all the right places.
Once your hooked you never go back V.
'A Crane A Day in B'ham', I can see it now.
I told you it was a good shot. :-)
Yeah, it could be worse ... -:))
Spewing on the computer again..."A Crane a Day in B'ham"!!! I can see it now!!!
W,
I have NOT gone over to the dark and craney side with you although I think the CraneWorks guys need to find me a cute hardhat with my name on it!
Chieftess,
W is so delusional. I think he's been sniffing to much motor oil or something.
Bibi,
For more of Vulcan's buns go here:http://birminghamalabamadailyphoto.blogspot.com/2009/10/buns-of-iron.html
La rouge hardhat with your name on it!!!
Better him than me. Great capture.
Well, that's a very cool picture. The people who do this work are crazy. When the window washers come by my 23rd floor office window I have to run to the coffee room. I can't stand even looking at them.
Yes, well I don't see any blue painter's tape on this project. Taping is the worst part of painting next to painting. ;)
Who painted his rump?
Great capture and funny post, V.! :-)
Very buff!
Love your last sentence. It appears that Wayne got thoroughly mooned.
