Clairmont Fire Station Gets New Face

This past year our firefighters at the Clairmont Fire Station got some new digs.  Since then this great old building has almost gotten the wrecking ball but so far it's still with us.  Those of us in the neighborhood are hoping someone will make it a neat bar or café.  I pass it 3 or 4 times a day and have been delighted to see the outside has become an art gallery of sorts.  In the last few weeks new art has gone up . I swung by and caught this one today. Any of my B'ham readers know who the artists are?

Nice art. It should become an art gallery-cafe.

The same guy who paints the dogs playing poker?

The artwork was done by 11th graders at the Alabama School of Fine Arts.

Daryl,
HA , looks like it!

Thanks you everyone for your nice comments. I love this place and even more so now that I know the students at the SFA are the artists.

There should be a great kitchen in the building if it was a fire house!!! And it's probably set up for great recliners and big screen tv's...perhaps a coffee house, cafe, art gallery, and old movie theater!!!

The mural brings my son's favorite book to mind, The Fire Cat, Pickles. How he loved that book!

The students did a fantastic job. I'm going to have to take a ride to see it up close and personal.
