Sunrise at Ruffner Mountain

Today's image comes from my dear friend Bill Dixon.  He has tried and tried to get me to venture out for a photo shoot to catch a sunrise. It's pretty much not going to happen , B.  Today I share this nice one from the quarry at Ruffner Mountain.  I've taken a crowd of enthusiastic third graders to this quarry for many a field trip.........never at sunrise.

I'm with you, sister. Up before dawn? Not gonna happen. Glad someone else is willing to provide us such a beautiful scene.

Bill, thanks for another great sunrise! I saw a lot of them when my son was young and we were up before dawn for hockey practice...but I am happy to let you show them to me now.

I do remember that field trip...that was back when I was absolutley terrified of buses and put up a fight everytime we went on a trip! I thank you for putting up with all of us Mrs. J.

rip,
I'd forgotten that but now I remember that it was a very bumpy wild ride to Ruffner Mt. I think that was the year the guide made us scale that trail and I was terrified someone would go over the edge. I was a bit panicked myself!!!

Very beautiful! I don't get many sunrise shots, either, and the ones I do are just outside my door, like my header photo.

Bill, you did a great job on this with just a peek at the sunrise. I say that we just keep working on Virginia as there are some pretty spectacular things that happen at that time of day. Perhaps after her Paris visit she will take to seeing the sunrise after being up all night.... hummmm?

I know how you feel Virginia!!! The one sunrise shot I've gotten was because the Hubman woke me up to tell me the sunrise was gorgeous!!! It was, I shot it, I went back to bed and sleep!!!
