Spring...

dresses up everything, don't you think?  Even historic Oak Hill Cemetery seems happier!

I think I can detect a smile on the stone.

Lovely, peaceful... the inscription on the stone appears to have weathered away.. reminds me that eventually we will all fade from current memory but God never leaves nor forsakes us.

Thanks Virg, you know that I love a good cemetery shot and you got some great ones in Passy this year!

Hi, Virginia. In past times, cemetaries were places where folks strolled and enjoyed themselves, kind of like the parks of today. Mt. Auburn Cemetary in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a good example of that. Your local cemetary looks like it would be welcoming, too, especially in spring.

Thanks for visiting my blog yesterday. I often see your comments on blogs I visit, but I don't think we have connected before.

I've been trying to figure out the design on the tombstone. So far I see a bas relief elephant head and an incised raven in a stylized Christmas tree. Am I close?
