Some of you might look at this great blue door and think I've high tailed it off to the south of France ( I wish!) or Italy, but many of my Birmingham area readers know exactly where this is. I lunched at Chez Fonfon in 5 Points last week with some dear high school friends. I snuck out in the back for a few quick shots. When the weather is nice, you can dine there and watch or play a game of boules/
pétanque if you like!

Modified quote from one of the finest pieces of acting I've seen - Meryl Streep in "The devil wears Prada"
"But what you don't know is that that door is not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis, it's actually cerulean"
Ah, aqua. The universal color for both women and buildings.
if this view of the restaurant is so delicious, i imagine the food is sensational.
Smoothing effect for the mind!
That shade of blue is so very 1950s ..
Did you have the coconut cake???
And when I grow up I want to take photographs like you.
what a great photo..it truly does look European! I just moved to Birmingham (I'm renting with =http://realestate.al.com/alabama/shelby-county/birmingham/for-rent) and I'm always looking for new sights to see. Your blog is going to be a great resource.
Chez Fonfon ? The name says it all and the shutter's colour is just the right colour !!!
Enough with the pretty pictures, I want to see how much you've packed so far. The month isn't getting any younger, you know.
Hiker,
I dream about what I can pitch and what I have to have. I'm plowing through summer/winter clothes right now. Not pretty!
Great French flavored shot, V!
Did you have the "crepe du jour" for your dejeuner?!
Bon weekend mon amie
Leif,
Non but I strongly considered the moules et frites! had a crab cake and it was great!
It does look as if you had journeyed overseas! Nice shot of a beautiful place.
My dad often will do lunch and play a game of petaunque.
Oh, c'mon. I've spent so many hours over photo editing software I know it's cyan. Whatever. The red-cyan-pink color shift is really well balanced.
Bob, you Photoshop guys WEAR ME OUT!!!
V
My husband was talking about cyan when he had a darkroom in the late 60s-70s! Our son amazed his kindergarten teacher by calling it cyan instead of blue!
I'm off to see what cyan is. I've heard of the rest as I took painting classes decades ago!
V
Our Bob's right, as always..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyan
How come your photos are always exquisite? I mean, how come already? Jeez!
