At the Magic City Art Connection, I had to stop and take some photos, when I spotted this sign. Apparently folks, even here in Alabama, ask a lot of questions about the hammered dulcimer. Now you know!
My best friend's mother plays the dulcimer, but I've never heard it referred to as 'hammered'... Gorgeous instrument though, I beat it was a treat to hear!
The youngest son of our neighbors when I was growing up, made dulcimers when he became an adult...he was brilliant...when he was just a little, little kid, he would come down and spend hours with my dad pulling apart electrical things and putting them back together...my dad was in awe of his natural abilities.

You make me homesick for Arkansas and the sound of hammered dulcimers.

It gives me a great vibe to see an old gentleman playing the dulcimer in downtown Birmingham. go for it gents.
