Admittedly Occupy Birmingham is small time compared to other cities, but here are a few of the faithful that I snapped at a red light yesterday. They want to have their voices heard. Thankfully we live in a country where that is possible!
Nice protest capture. I always like to see people exercising their rights --- as long as it's within the perimeters of established ordinances and laws. No one has the right to violate the law.
You are correct about the right to have a demonstration. And thank heavens that courageous people in Birmingham a generation ago exercised that right and changed the country for the better.
Unfortunatelly, politicians and their powerful friends seem to be 100% deaf!!! There will be a general strike in my country next thursday. Bad for the already very fragile economy? Of course, but at least the government can't deny people are really revolted.

it would be interesting to have an "occupy" day where we show how our communities are responding in our far-flung parts of the world.

I hope they enjoy the fun. Last night here one 'camper' took exception of what another said and attacked with a hammer. ???? Occupy this!
We have them here also.
..Well.. similar.

Excellent Virginia! It is very interesting to see this kind of demonstrations not only in the bigger cities.
Bird, There are hotheads all over the world and the U.S. has its s hare!
Costas,
We all hope that there will be peace and stability in your country again very soon.
BC, good idea.
Thank you Luis.
SRQ, This group seems to be very quiet.
Dave,
You're right!
Brattcat, that's a great idea. We might be able to do it through the CDP website somehow.
We've had several organized protests in Pasadena, though they haven't called themselves "Occupy." And of course there's "Occupy LA."
Yes, yes. But money still buys more volume.
More power to them. Hope they don't give up.

Nice job. I thank those that are protesting. It's important they get the message out.
