OK Birminghamians, this is a little test for you. I play this on my Paris blog from time to time. Tell me what this is and where it is. A fabulous prize MIGHT be offered to the winner!
the image itself is prize enough. some sort of ornamental/functional masonry that you've turned into a work of art. can't wait to hear where you found it.
Maybe it is Sloss, as Rob says. But I'm guessing not. Maybe decorative brick on an old downtown building, probably a church. Advent? No, it's stone, not brick. 1st Methodist? ditto. So either St. Paul's or 1st Presbyterian. I guess 1st Pres.....?
I have lived in Birmingham most of my life. I think it's a beautiful, friendly, and interesting place to live. I hope that my daily photographs portray the diversity of my hometown in a positive and artistic way.

The lost pyramids of Sloth Furnace in Birmingham, AL. Sorry I gave it away. ;)
Wonderful shot Virginia!

Good guesses. And Rob I'm LOL at Sloth Furnace. Good for you, you are close, it's SLOSS! :)
Sorry, didn't mean that Rob has the correct answer. That will be revealed tomorrow!
Okay, decorative brickwork in a wall somewhere, but the location? Geez, I know Birmingham about as well as I know Vladivostok.
Grinding teeth of some sort :-)
Great shot, V! This reminds me of a building in Lisbon: http://oeirasdailyphoto.blogspot.com/2010/09/casa-dos-bicos.html
