Last night I joined my fellow members at Independent Presbyterian Churchand other friends from around the area for some good BBQ and some very fine music. Birmingham's Act of Congress, just home from an international tour for the State Dept. was the star but Delmar Hill's BBQ, that he smoked on the premises all day was the icing on the cake. The whole event was sponsored by IPC's Young Adults to benefit a terrific new program. AWE, The Art and Writing Experience, is a new after s chool program that will reach third grade graduates from our STAIR program. Through the Cultural Alliance of Greater Birmingham, these students will experience dance, drama, visual arts and writing twice a week this school year!
I have lived in Birmingham most of my life. I think it's a beautiful, friendly, and interesting place to live. I hope that my daily photographs portray the diversity of my hometown in a positive and artistic way.
