Due to a summer drought, folks around here had just about given up on having any real color this fall. A good rain this week helped. Yesterday I was amazed at how the leaves had changed, almost over night. This was shot about this time last year. My friend lives just past the red tree and I sent her a copy the other day. I'm glad I captured it as this year... not so much.

I remember when we lived in Bham, every year people would wring their hands and worry about lack of tree color because of dry weather, warm weather, too much rain, too early frost, etc. etc., but every year, somehow we managed to have a beautiful fall anyway!
