Yarn bombing is catching on here in Birmingham. I spotted this nice crocheted one outside of Charm on 2nd Avenue North, downtown. The bright colors fit this funky and fun jewelry and gift shop!
I've seen it once before...I think it was on Bibi's Serbian blog, A Yankee in Belgrade... Interesting concept!!! I'm not sure I get it...but it'd definitely unique!!!
New concept to me. I'll be in NYC next week. I wonder if there are any public knitting circles in the Lower East Side. Might well be, given the hipsters' love of irony.
Coincidentally, I was just visiting a yarn bombing site. Her latest post showed recent yarn bombs in Durban,South Africa, Madrid, Venezuela, Nantes, Bloomington, and South Carolina. Far from over, it seems like it's catching on everywhere and is now used as a vehicle for raising money for charities. As your photo shows, yarn bombing now includes crochet. Can you tell I'm enthusiastic about this topic?

One of the other bloggers I follow is living in Australia. She's been mentioning yarn bombing for awhile now... still, quite a strange term!
