Save the Lyric Series - The Lower Balcony

Today, the third of my series on the restoration of the Lyric Theatre.  The lower balcony or the mezzanine, still maintains it's beautiful details and graceful curve,  although the seats have now been ripped out ( except for one).  Tomorrow we'll visit the upper balcony and learn its history.

If you would like to learn more about the restoration efforts of the Lyric visit their website SAVE THE LYRIC.com

By seeing your pictures I must admit that it is valuable to restore this theatre. It also looks a bit like an urbex photo shoot of an abandoned ruin.

My only question on the upper balcony for you is 'safe'? I do enjoy your looks behind the scenes.

It does need work, granted, but you can just tell by looking here that it's a project that's more than worth doing.

My goodness, I can visualize the restoration in its entirety, thanks to your detailed images, Virginia.

The curves are indeed elegant. Were the brick interior walls covered with something, plaster perhaps?

I think you might know how much I enjoy decay shots. Love them both.
