Driving home last night from a downtown event, the Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children was all lit up and so colorful, I found a quick parking spot and got out. I have always loved these fountains but at night, they are even more terrific.

Birmingham Rouge - Welcome!

Whoever designed this fountain at the entrance to the new Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children, knew just what they were doing.  Going to the hospital is a scary thing for children of all ages. This made me smile when I saw it. I hope it does the same for the children that come here as well.

New Digs

The Children's Hospital here in Birmingham is a wonderful place. It's so wonderful that it has outgrown its present facility.  Sunday on my way downtown, I pulled over to get a shot of the new wing that is coming right along. I love the brightly colored accents on the front.  Their website here, puts the completion date at August, 2012. I'll be there!
