Saturday afternoon my alma mater was getting beaten like a drum by our archrivals across the state. I had had about as much fun as I could stand, so I turned off the television, grabbed my camera and headed out. It was a foggy, "mizzly" afternoon and I wasn't sure what I would find. As luck would have it, I found this winding road shrouded in a blanket of fog. After taking a number of photos around the neighborhood, I headed back home to watch the last half of the game....... Just wait till next year!!!

V, Sorry for my absence AND what I'VE been missing. Your header is beautiful again and with each change you make. I LOVE this fog picture and the peace it brings and I LOVE the music with it. I am sitting here "enchanted" by it all - even if my kitty dashed off the desk upon hearing the water at the beginning! I liked it.......thank you for giving me such a restful moment in what you know has been a most hectic time.
I absolutely love fog shots, this one is outstanding.
Cheers!

superbe photo de brouillard, cela me fait penser a "Fog" de Carpenter, et j'espère qu'au bout de la route il n'y a pas de zombie..........
superb photograph of mist, it makes me think has "Fog" of Carpenter, and I hope that at the end of the road there is not zombie ..........
Mizzly? Y'all can't just make up words V. This, I take it, is some 'southern thing' combining drizzly and misty.
Now, to the photo. It's great. I love these foggy images too.
I don't know about the temperature you have in the moment in Birmingham but this atmosphere could be a Breton one! Have you seen Merlin? ;-)
As you know, I love the foggy atmosphere, where the photographer gets his treat! These pictures are wonderful, especially the one in your banner!!
D
Time away from the game VERY well spent. These type of road scenes are my favorites.
I can feel the "mizziness." I'm not a football fan of any kind, so I'd have already been up your trail aways!
Wow - i love the fog in the trees and the road winding away
Now I understand your comment on Gabriola!
We use the word "mizzly" down here.
Sorry your team lost but you scored big on this photo!
Beautiful mysterious scenery!
It seems like the team's loss was our gain. Great photo, very mysterious.
All of our teams won this weekend - Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas - so things were pretty happy at my house.
I like your photo. The weather has been quite strange lately. They say it's going to be 70 tomorrow. I hope it's true!
Wayne you nailed it! Are you sure you're not a southerner at heart???
Normally I am glued to every game but this season has been really hard. I am still proud as all get out to be an Auburn Tiger and my flag still waves out front for a few more days!
Judy glad to have you back with us. Thrilled your son has improved enough to go home today. yippee!
Wow, this is such a pretty scene, perfect for a drive. Or, perhaps a gaggle of bicyclists. ;)
Mizzly is just about the most accurate term I've ever heard to describe this kind of day.
Beautiful photo, will be following this lovely series of photos.
I think you'd be eligible for the Elizabeth and Mallory Factor Prize for Southern Artists, if you were interested in that sort of thing.
Keep it up! :)
I really like foggy photos... always lots of mystery, ambiance... poetry... :-)
I have just looked at the Mallory competition. I agree ... have to be 2009 ... but worth dipping your toe ...
Time well spent, V, love your photographic find. Heck with the game. I got caught in Vol traffic on Saturday - I-75 was a parking lot - but we drove down the shoulder and made it to our exit anyway. I think the Vols won, whatevs.
Beautiful! I love the word 'mizzly' and it's a perfect description of today's weather in So Cal.
Hugs and blessings,
How peaceful it looks.
You can really capture a place in time.
Foodie,
I've captured some 11's and they are being printed. You just let me know when.
V
SC,
Thanks for the tip on that contest. I am investigating it. The prize would zip me right back to Paris and even Italy. Very provocative idea!
I hope you get it!
Best of luck, I think your work is beautiful.
wow, you brought the ghosts of Paris back with you for this shot...nice...
My brain is obviously foggy, i thought I had left a comment. Ethereal. Foggy mist is that to me.
No fog in Chandler so I came back to see the one of this lovely picture!
WAR EAGLE !!!!
Alan, THanks for leaving a comment. I see you are one of my local readers. Welcome and War Eagle to you as well. Next year will be better and it's still great to be an Auburn Tiger oui?
DL,
Do NOT get me off another rant about bicycle zealots. I have finally calmed down from the one I left on your blog! HA
That is a beautiful photo. Very mysterious and haunting.
