As I have shared with you previously I participate in a reading tutoring program at my church. Today was the annual Christmas Party. First, Mrs. Robinson read the Christmas story (below) which we all enjoyed. Shortly after that, Santa Claus himself burst into the room and led us all in a few Christmas songs while he accompanied us on his GUITAR! Next, he passed out books from each child's two weekly tutors and a stocking bursting with surprises. Shortly before the gift opening began one little girl shyly said, "Santa, I have letter for you." Santa urged her to go get it. She returned with the letter and a grocery sack tied tightly. When he unwrapped it he found this teddy bear. Finally, Santa gets a gift! Merry Christmas, Santa!
PS There wasn't a dry eye in the place!

What perfect captures of the event! I love seeing the girl watching Santa's reaction.
j'aime bien la deuxième photo avec la conteuse, les enfants sont sages et écoutent sagement.
I like the second photograph well with the storyteller, the children are wise and listen wisely.
Just an expression for your next French course: "Sages comme une image"...
Now that is sweet!
Aw, I bet Santa was really touched. This little girl definitely has the spirit of the season.
What a wonderful evening. I'm sure the glow will last for days.
Love Mrs. Robinson shot!
Adorable! Perfect Christmas photos. They say it all.
Wow what a coincidence.
I am reading my Christmas book to a 3rd grade class in Vestavia today.
i love the act of reading to children and watching their eyes brighten as the story unfolds.
"The Very Best Gift of All"
Thanks for the photos.
Virginia, I think you need to check out this HDR photo of a Paris subway stop. Really striking.
Forgot the link.

I love toiday's song, V, and what a grand idea that little girl had!
Eeyore, I am off to the church this morning to help the folks write Christmas cards for their families. Thanks for your link. I will share with Peter who does the Subway Theme and Bob Crowe who is all about some HDR photography right now. Merci
Foodie, I enjoyed our chat. Too bad you aren't reading to a 2nd or K class. I have two cute granddaughters there! Let me know when you need some photos.
Alice, I let Olivier help me with one word. I am getting better at translation, it's the pronounciation that needs a strict teacher!
So nice for a child to think of Santa like that!
I wonder if santa wants a "hoe hoe hoe" for Christmas? Lovely images, espcailly the reading. I can can image the litlle faces listening in wonderment.
I am off to the sin bin for the lady of the night wisecrack.
this 2 last photos are beautiful and they really tell a story... bravo.
B,
I am cracking up but yes, off to the sin bin AGAIN with you girl. Santa's watching you know!
Santa with a guitar...whatever next!
Beautiful images..
Hey, Santa is the biggest rock star of ALL!
Love this, V. Just beautiful and so sweet. I have a tear in my eye!
B., Melissa's comment is really mine. I was using her computer. I am such a dork and didn't realize!
Angela, He was a guitar playing, joke cracking Santa. I have never laughed so hard. What next??
Laurie, will i ever quit laughing at St. Latrine the Patron Saint of Bathroom Windows on your blog? I have gone back and revisited that and the gnome guarding the gas meter. Your blog cracks me up!
Love Santa photos, and thanks for bringing me to Paris with you , you really are too generous. Great post.
This Santa must have been surprised!!
It's a change from the milk and cookies!!
This little girl looks so happy. She just learned that giving is almost as fun or more fun as receiving!!
V, St. Latrine is now part of my world-view. From now on, all things related to bathrooms will be directly related to good old St. Latrine. May she be kind...
You know, Santa deserves a tip now and then. He works the night shift out in the cold with smelly animals, and what does the old guy get? Milk and cookies once in a while? I mean, he's already overweight, his cholesterol is high and his doctor is worried about his blood sugar. Cuddly bears are so much more theraputic.
Such a nice setting for readings songs and music! Did Mrs Robinson get a gift too? She had the perfect attiré too!
