Scout

Just for the record, this is NOT one of my grandchildren, but to be honest she is a neighbor.  I only intended to post the gingerbread decorating party once,  and then when I downloaded the photos....ahhh! Try as I might, I could not resist this portrait of Scout with the afternoon sun giving her a little "halo".  Licking the icing off her finger sealed the deal.  Call me weak.

At least there are no kittens in sight. I'm grateful for small mercies.

It's a good portrait CLW.

He is leaving himself wide open for a photographic riposte, V!

It is a lovely contemplative shot which is made doubly so by the lass' name: Scout. Is this a name bestowed often in The South or is it purely derived from the book?

Hello, Virginia. Love this photo, so real! And it reminds me I'm sooo behind in my Christmas preparations. This weekend will be a marathon.

The light direction and quality, the moment, and your angle take make this a great portraiture, V! Bravo!

Virg, you've done it again, but not only with this charmer of a photograph - your commentary is a delight - I love the phrase "sealed the deal" - the new masthead is a coup too. You've got a real gift mon amie!

This is a wonderful portrait! I think any photographer would be "weak" in the face of this little beauty.

I put up a picture of last week's snow today. Stop by for a look.

What a beautiful portrait. You should print a copy of it, put it in a simple frame and give it to her parents as a Christmas gift. I'm sure they will appreciate it.

I prefer candid photos to "posed ones" so this is definitely one of my favorites by you.

Thanks everyone. I hope Scout enjoys seeing herself today. She's a sweetie for sure.

Tehran Daily,
Welcome to the wild and wacky CDPB group. I have visited your blog and your photos are lovely. Everyone needs to cruise on over and see it. I am looking forward to learning more about your city and your culture. I understand we have a couple from your city that are new to Auburn. I plan to chat with them soon.

It's such a lovely image and another memory made. One question the name Scout- is she named after the litlle girl in To Kill Mockingbird?

Sorry I forgot to skewer Wayne. I think I'l just wait though and catch him off guard!HA

Halcyon. Hard to believe Jackson had snow last week. I just got home from a long walk in a lightweight sweatshirt and I was soooo hot! It must be close to 70F today. At one point I saw a few rays of sunlight. There's hope for clear skies maybe. I'm off to see your snow photos.

Well that lucky little girl. As a kid, I tried to force my friends to give me Scout as a nickname. They kept forgetting.

You don't know how many memories you bring back with that French song...
How many Nativity Scenes in Primary schools all over France singing that song in front of proud parents....
Scout is a little "Sweet"Angel!

Marie-Noyale,
Two years ago my little Eva's 4K class sang it in French at the Service of Lessons and Carols. Now it is one of our very favorite songs at Christmas. I'm glad you know it and love it too.

And Scout's name is ....Scout! It fits her perfectly!
