Sometimes when I take my daily walk on Jemison Trail in Mountain Brook, I drag my camera along, especially if it's a sunny day. Shades Creek runs along the trail and I spotted these lovely stones at the water's edge, shimmering in the morning sun. Doesn't get much prettier than this.

I agree: this is gorgeous. It is also very soothing.
Nothing nicer than stone-hopping along a river with someone you care for, with the wind sighing through the she-oaks and stopping every-so-often to skim a smooth pebble and watch as it thud-thud-thuds across the surface.

You're right; there's nothing as pretty. Reminds me of those interior water gardens which are very popular here..hope you're having a lovely holiday time..

Can't step in the same (river) twice, nor step on the same stone. Everything changes. This is a beautiful illustration of that.

This reminds me of my Laxey Rapids images I sold some time ago. A sreies of three images at avrying speeds. Well done again. The light dancing on the water is spot on.

Sorry to rain on your photo enlargement parade, but you've got part of the right handside of the photo missing. If you click on the photo to enlarge it you can see a bit isn't shown on the actual blog. I think you might have to widen your template. I managed this, and larger photos, after a lot (and I mean a lot!) of fiddling. My top-tip is to set up a test blog to play around with. You can play with html code and if it goes horribly wrong you can just press reset and no damage done. I tried with my real blog and after completely messing it up I had to spend hours resetting all the things I had erased! A test blog is a great idea! Believe me!!

Oh rats. I should have left it super large like it was this am. Back to the drawing board pour moi. Why is this so hard for me??? Maybe it's God's way of telling us my photos don't need to be enlarged. Something to think about.
As the Buddhists say, the river is never the same at any two moments, even though it is just water flowing in the same banks. Best wishes for a peaceful and joyous 2009.
