VOILA!
( Yes, my Davis is wearing an Alabama jersey. I can't talk about it.)
Today is Mid Month Theme: Subway Day for some of my blogger friends. Since Birmingham has no rapid transit system, I asked if I could join this prestigious group should I get a good Metro photo in Paris! My friend Peter accepted my offer and slyly passed his "spot" off to me this month. My photo can be seen on his great blog, Peter's Paris. Thank you Peter, for letting mine sit amongst your wonderful Paris photos!!!
You can also see a few more of my Metro photos as well as a link to the other Subway Day participants on my new blog
Henry took candy placement very seriously!

Virginia, Your Christmas was definitely worth waiting for! Love your header and ALL the wonderful Christmas you are sharing with us! How could one not feel Christmasy after a visit here? No way! Loving it.
How cute! You know, before I read your post I thought he was going in for a plunge of destruction - nanoseconds before the prongs of that hand thwacked into the pristine delight. Well, glad I was wrong, except for that little tomboy part of me...
Roll Tide!
Nothing better then the kids in the kitchen helping and the grandkids are even better!
These two photos are real treasures! We are not used to make these lovely gingerbread houses in France, I don't know why...
Bravo for your photo at Concorde station!
Such lovely photos, Virginia!!
Weren't we all like this? Wonderful!
Perfect timing to capture Davis' and Henry's cutest faces! :-)
A joyful assignment to look forward to.
What a delight! We had a candy house as children, and I still remember helping Mama decorate it. We saved it in plastic from year to year, and it survived many years.
Cute, Cute, Cute!
I loved making gingerbread houses.
as for the mass transit
If we could have it local, in Homewood, that would be a good start. I choose to live in walking distance of everything I need, but it would be nice to live in a grown-up city one day.
Foodie, Unfortunately our politicians choose to pour OUR money down the "rat hole". Maybe the biggest rat has been caught, oui??? When you go to a "grown up " city like Paris, it's astounding how easy and inexpensive it is to get from one place to another on the Metro!!
RR, No saving these for next year. I am pretty sure Davis has tried to eat the house already. They make the houses already baked and put together now so all Mom has to do is furnish icing and candy!
What beautiful gingerbread houses. Did grandma bake the walls and roof herself? That's the hardest part, if you ask me! But it's worth it to see the enjoyment on these little ones faces.
Gingerbread houses are not the norm here in Australia. However, the looks you have captured are wonderful, V.
I am so late that all the best bits are gone.. Little face so cute and so intense. Some serious architecture going on here.
Can't access my email 'til tomorrow. Send me your adress and I'll send you a card.
B
You are never too late. Yes sweet faces and serious candy cramming and architecture going on.
I am surprised that everyone doesn't do gingerbread houses everywhere. I of course not the baker would never have made the whole thing but the decorating is the fun part!
Kathleen, I had him all in love with Auburn and then his dad brainwashed him. It's a sad, sad, day in this household. War Eagele, girl!!!!
This beautiful child has been on your blog so often he needs an agent. I think, though, that you pay a lot of royalties by non-monetary means.
Looks like they had a great time making those houses. Cheer up V, it looks like Davis has on an orange shirt underneath his jersey. ;)
D , It's orange but not Auburn orange, sadly! ha
Bob,
I know but it's rained here seemingly forever and I am digging for photos!! No broken down old reindeer to photograph! ha
Well done, we ahve upcoming baking artisens in our midst!
what a beautiful little house.
Glad it wasn't me tasked with decorating the ginger bread house. I would have eaten all the candies and the door of the house before it is done. :-)
