This is probably my most recognizable addition to my 100 Strangers Challenge. I'm serious! This particular Santa's helper was a stranger, and we had a nice chat when I told him what I wanted under my tree this year. He got a good chuckle out of that and promised he would deliver. Santa Baby, I'm counting on you! ( I hope Santa has some French speaking elves!)
Actually, this nice Santa was the star of Brunch with Santa at Birmingham's Summit Club on Sunday. A very kid friendly event enjoyed by all.

everybody prepares his Christmas list; o) is more true than nature your Santa Claus and you when go you asked the Santa Claus ?
Brunch with Santa? That one hasn't hit the Cote d'Azur yet...
Good luck with the Christmas wishes..
I can just imagine the sort of wish you told Santa, V. He still seems to be blushing!
Re 'Roonys "treacle": treacle itself is similar to what you folk call Mollases I think. Treacle is a by-product of the sugar making process. It is maybe a bit like honey except darker, thicker and nowhere near as sweet. In Australia, the most common form of treacle is called "Golden Syrup" and it is so disgusting that the only people who eat it are those like my son who have no control over their sweet-tooth. It is also very cheap because it is just a fortuitous by-product.
I find it fascinating that you refer to it as the British language whereas I simply regard it as English.
Hello Santa!!
V, Love your Santa! We used to do "Breakfast with Santa" - brunch sounds much more civilized. Loving all your posts - sorry I've not been able to comment more........now let me see - what would YOU ask for.....hmmmmmm.....
Santa looks like a real nice guy! :-)
Your previous photo is absolutely stunning! How beautiful!!!
What I asked for is between the big guy and me and I'm not talking! HA
Julie, I said Brit to distinguish between our two often diverse ways of speaking the same language! You know "southern" and what 'Roon speaks is often full of differences to put it mildly.
Angela, Guess down here in little ole Birmingham, we can teach you all something! ha
Did you tell him to bring snow this year.
We sorta forgot what it looks like.
We got to see Santa this weekend too! The boys had no problem letting him know what they wanted this year! Hope Santa makes your wishes come true :)
I think Santa has had too much Golden Syrup or treacle. In the Uk Golden syrup is just that and not to be confused with treacle which is your serious dark stuff. Golden syrup is similar to maple syrup. Roon has a wonderful way with words I find. No much sweet stuff for santa until Christamas Eve mince pie.
Your a spoil sport for not telling us what you asked for! Lol! Have you been a good girl? You won't get anything otherwise!
I hope Santa grants your wish. I hope as a result I won't be reading about you in the newspapers.
Santa was behind me in traffic yesterday, but the light was green, so I couldn't get a shot. He drives a Chevy, btw.
Some days I think my neurons are twisted into pretzel shapes. This subject brought back an old memory for no apparent reason. The local Hare Krishna temple/residence/restaurant is right next to the campus of St. Louis University, my alma mater. One year they had someone wandering around the neighborhood trying to collect money, wearing a Santa suit and calling out, "Ho, ho, ho, Hare Krishna!" I guess you had to me there.
My wife reminded me the other day that U "R" Us figured out that there was no Santa Claus when he was 5, just from watching Miracle on 34th Street. Bright little nipper.
I'm with Elaine... just what did you tell jolly St. Nick anyway?
The soft winter day you posted yesterday is wonderful, V. And so is your new header photo. I like the mood in these photos.
The Santa Claus looks fun.
Ho, Ho, HO! Santa is no stranger here!
I want to know what you said to Santa Claus. He sure looks pleased with himself...
Good evening Virginia! Your granddaughter looks adorable. And plaid can be so difficult! She makes it look very chic. Is that velvet on the collar? I would love to wear that dress myself. I'm glad Santa did such a fine job. I think I might have to go visit Santa meself, I have some things I would like for the New Year...
The kid in me just loves this photo!
The photographer in me loves the foggy day photo...those trees beg to be photographed!
I love that Santa Baby's tune!!
now you just have to tape yourself singing that tune and you will get what's on your list!!! ;~))
Did you get to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what you want for Christmas?
