Steeple Arts Academy of Dance, in Crestline Village, has been teaching dance to tiny ballerinas for 75 years. Orginally known as the Lola Mae Jones School of Dance, it still offers classical ballet training ans has added jazz, tap and more.
FancyHorse, I have no idea. Maybe so, I just discovered it a few weeks ago.
Elin, I"m so glad this brings back fond memories for you!!
RedPat, I think it really is a weathervane.
Thank you all for your nice comments. Funny how seeing things with a photographer's eye can help you discover things in your own community that you've overlooked!

voila une tres belle (et original) girouette
"Lola Mae" has a certain ring to it....
Sibling?
How extraordinary to see a ballerina atop a steeple. Love it!
I am sure it is inspiring little girls passing by...
Lovely and original!
p.s. IT IS a saguaro Virginia... :-)
What a terrific weathervane and your usually well-composed shot.
I just adore your ballerina photograph.
Have a great day Virginia.

Very cool .. reminds me of a sculpture I saw in Brugge back before the new millennium
I love this!!! I loved taking dance when I was a kid...and wish I had pursued it more!!!
What a lovely roof top!
By the way, regarding the different colours in the fountain, it's just a question of being wet or dry. Maybe some algae has given a hand too. :-)
Unlike Chieftess, they were only too glad when I pursued it no further. I'm charmed by the ballerina on the steeple.
Love it! I thought it was a weathervane at first.
I took there for years. What great memories this brings up for me!!!
Has the ballerina always been there? I never saw it!
Merci Olivier!
JB, HAR,.... no kin.

Lola Mae Jones School of Dance sounds so much more Alabama. I need to think about the meaning of this endless pirouette.
Church of the dance.
