Dripping with Autumn Color

A stroll through Oak Street Garden Shop is a delight in the fall. So far, we still have very warm weather and now turning leaves, but this place is dripping with it.

Escher Called...

Yesterday, I paid a visit to Oak Street Garden Shop in Crestline Village. While snapping pumpkins, I looked up and spotted the light and shadows. Without the blue sky and clouds to give the viewer a sense of place, this BW comes across as an M.C. Escher!

Vintage Line Up

The Pantry in Crestline Village stole my heart with their wonderful décor.  These old bottles lined up on the mantle were a great photo op!

Parade Reflection

The Mt. Brook Mystics Halloween Parade that winds through Crestline Village is a family affair. Neighbors gather and make their floats and there's the Mountain  Brook cheerleaders and dancers. It's just a fun community event. I caught this reflection on the MBFD truck!

September 11.... Remembering

This past year, the Mountain Brook City Hall, Police Department and Fire Department have undergone a complete renovation.  Their new facility has been enhanced with the new addition of a very special memorial.  The Fire Department wrote a grant and now are the proud owners of an H beam that was once part of the World Trade Center.  This 7 foot, 1305 pound beam now stands proudly outside the station.  The bronze base was designed by artist Shea Scully. Today, the dedication.

Check Mates

At last Mountain Brook's new City Hall is finished and the giant chess set is back in the front yard. I found this cute family have some fun. I think they made up their own rules!

Time Flying?

I just thought it was cool when I looked up one night and the clock faces seemed to be floating over Crestline Village!

I Love a Parade!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to be a photographer for the Mountain Brook Mystics Halloween Parade.  It was great fun seeing the creative homemade neighborhood floats packed to the gills with very cute costumed kiddos, plus local businesses and of course cheerleaders, dancers, firemen and much more.  I couldn't pick just one so you get a collage today!

PS I caught a Milky Way thrown from a float. Life is good!

Ghoulishly Fascinating

Since Kate Middleton's wedding "fascinators" have taken the country by storm.  At The Lamb's Ear Ltd. in Crestline Village, even the ( sparkly) skeletons are looking a très chic.  Happy Halloween!
