A few weekends ago, I did a photo shoot with a former student. As we explored downtown Birmingham, I told her that I'd always wanted to shoot the
Cathedral of Saint Paul. She knew about the lovely garden adjoining the church, that I'd never explored! The koi pond caught my interest as we entered. I hope to make photographs inside this beautiful downtown church in the days to come.

Beautiful fish. My mother had a large pond with koi in her yard.
Gosh, that's lovely, in all directions and colors.
Familiar fish to us here. Like seeing my neighbor in a far off place!

The japanese fish is catching the eyes, attractive red spot among a dark world..

Wow!!! That's the most vibrant Koi I've seen!!!
I fell about at Brattcat's comment! This is a lovely shot. Vibrant colours, beautiful reflections - the perfect moment. I've tried photographing fish and I know it's not easy. Really love this shot, V.
Great picture.Maybe not what one would jump to in their head when thinking Birmingham, but I think that might be part of its charm.
Beautiful. I wonder if I wouldn't have cropped it right down to delete the rock and show only the water. There are lots of wonderful mysterious elements here.
Did you know I love fish? :-) What a big beautiful Koi! Love this shot.
