You're talking to my mind and heart! I'm a great snailmailer, and I have penfriends all over the world!I like to write and to receive letters and postcards!
I think it helps that the typewriter is Italian and therefore inherently inefficient. I used to write long letters to people. Now it's all email. At least I still don't tweet.
My mother made me take typing in High School...I refused to take more than one semester because I didn't want to be a secretary, and of course, in my mind, if I took typing, that was my destiny!!! Thank you mom for making me take typing, because I can now write this comment without looking at the keyboard!!! No hunt and peck for me!!!
When I was in college...I regretted not taking more typing, until my future first mother-in-law took pity on me while I was using her fancy-dancy selectric typewriter and tossing out pages right and left because of mistakes...she was a court transcriber and could type about 120 words a minute with no mistakes!!! Eventually I gave up even trying to type them first and just asked her to type them for me!!! Thank you Lou...you got me through college!!!

beau b&w, avec le moderne (le telephone portable) et la vieille marchine a ecrire
it looks like someone is composing a poem on that olivetti.
Totally agree with you!
Do you know that a few students buy these kind of typewriters which allow them to think and type slower??
Yes, the Modern Love column of Sunday's NYTimes mentioned that.
V de B - were you typing ME a letter? You'll see today that I was thinking 'a toi....
Once again ... GMTA .. well yesterday anyway

I just love the sound of a typewriter. Looks like the one I had in typing class.

ps...I love the juxtaposition of the cell phone next to the typewriter...technology sure has changed!!!
Amusing observation. The old Olivetti has a style all its own.
Love the mix of old typewriter and modern phone and the (I think) poetry being typed. Also adore the black and white and shadows.
