Remember These??

Well to be honest, I think these might be a tad "updated" from the ones I remember, but they brought back some good memories.

My son is a fan of what he calls "Mexican Coke." He claims the taste is different, but I believe what he really loves are the old fashioned bottles. I buy it at Costco and we save it for special occasions -- Mexican Coke, the 12-year old's Champagne! :;) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Yes good memories compared to the memories we will have from these huge plastic bottles blocking the way in fridges...

In the USA the bottles always had a green tinge to them. In Canada with the same Coke in them the glass bottles were clear.

@Therese...We'll remember those plastic bottles... they'll be stacking up and clogging our environment forever...

@French Girl...Mexican coke is different...from what I understand, each coke recipe in each part of the world is tweaked slightly...but the bottles were the same!!!

Needless to say...I think we made a grave error shifting from these charming bottles to plastic...plastic doesn't disintegrate, and if it does...do we really want it in our soil??? I think plastic is far more dangerous in the long run!!!

Yes, a real treat. The ones I remember were all scuffed up where the bottles clanked together getting cleaned.

I think of cold refreshment when I see those! Coming out of a cooler of ice water.

When I was in law school I has a summer job as a Coca Cola delivery driver. The basic unit was what we called a single drink, soda in a 6.5 fluid ounce deposit bottle. Now it's two liters of corn syrup solution. Not exactly in the public interest.

I remember how tourists here in Israel got excited to see Coke bottles with Hebrew on them. They took them home as souvenirs.

We always liked looking at the bottom of the bottle to see where it was made. Once I found one that said Hong Kong!

Love the shot, hate what it contained. Have never been able to drink cola.
