I have lived in Birmingham most of my life. I think it's a beautiful, friendly, and interesting place to live. I hope that my daily photographs portray the diversity of my hometown in a positive and artistic way.
I am a former elementary school teacher, a full-time photographer, part-time painter, lover of all things French ( whose français is slowly improving), obsessive Paris traveler, enthusiastic art museum volunteer, grateful community volunteer, and grandmother to 5 delightful grandchildren.

Oh indeed. I am just hoping someone will take care of it soon...
Look at the texture of the wall! That must be the insulation?
Duncan In Kuantan
Duncan, no this is stucco on the outside of the house. Common in some Spanish style homes in Birmingham.
My...look at all those old shutters. Very curious indeed.
I'm sure you have some very interesting cohorts.
And that's a wonderful banner photo!!!!
oh what i could do with those shutters.
Very strange indeed - all those, softly colored shutters and the medallion of a child's profile. There is a story in there.
Imagine finding the cameo behind all those shutters! How wonderful is that?!
Lucky you, V! Wish I could visit the interiors of all the decayed and abandoned places I've been posting.
What a nice find!
That medallion is intriguing!
So many wonderful things in this photo. It would be hard to leave it all there!
