While our happy band of photographers were photographing the historic Lyric Theatre a few weeks ago, we found ourselves on the roof. Across the way, the Leer Tower sat waiting for someone to notice and perhaps begin a wonderful renovation there. We can only hope.
Update: My sources tell me that the mast was used to tie up dirigibles back in the day!

I don't even remember the Leer Tower! How long has it been empty? What was the most recent business to occupy it and when?
Looks ripe for restoration!
I remember the building well. So handsome. We've had several old office buildings rehabbed but there are still too many beautiful derelicts.
tie up airships, cool! try to get inside for some photos, probably classic looking in there!
FH, it was a hotel that you'll remember but I can't call the name.
Gregory, If I can get in there believe me I will!
Looks like it needs some love.
