At last Mountain Brook's new City Hall is finished and the giant chess set is back in the front yard. I found this cute family have some fun. I think they made up their own rules!
My ex-father in law had a patio with a checkerboard pattern cement blocks, so he made chess pieces out of plywood about the size of the ones in your photo.
When he was moving, he had the giant chess pieces in duffel bags out by his curb ready to load them in a truck. A pickup truck stopped on the street and two guys hopped out, threw the duffel bags in the back of the truck, and drove off.
They had no idea what they were stealing. I doubt they could get much money trying to fence homemade plywood giant chess pieces.

Love it! Great Summer shot Virginia.
I do suspect the kids are improvising some of their own rules!
Good shot, Virginia!
