Baseball Dreams Do Come True

What boy or girl  doesn't dream of a chance at bat in a real baseball park?  Well, my friend Connor got to do just that,  at none other than Birmingham's historic Rickwood Field.  For those of you who don't already know, Rickwood is the oldest baseball park in America.  What a thrill for me to be able to capture that moment when Connor got to live his dream.

Scroll back to previous Rickwood posts.

cela me rappelle la première fois, ou je suis entrée sur la pelouse du Parc des Princes (le stade où joue mon equipe de football préférée). j'avais 12 ans et j'étais tout ému.

it reminds me the first time I entered or on the lawn of the Parc des Princes (the point where my team plays football favourite). I had 12 years and I was very moved

I bet my parents went to some games here back when they lived in Birmingham in the 1940s and 50s.

What a thrill. I would have had to hand Conner the camera and tried a few swings myself.

How wonderful to capture the dream in a photo. How old is this ballfield? I'm not much of a baseball expert.

Virginia, thank you very much for the kind words and encouragment you left on my post yesterday.

I like the symbolic elements you chose in this picture to accompany our story: sky (dreams), lights (achievements, stardom).
